What is Tool Swap Shop?
Tool Swap Shop is an online marketplace where you can buy new and pre-owned tools from individuals and businesses. Our platform makes it easy to find the right tools for your projects at competitive prices.
How do I use the Interaction Hub to message a seller?
When you need to contact a seller for any reason you can do so via the Interaction Hub.
1. Navigate to the main menu and hover over “My Account”.
2. Upon hovering you will see an option for the “Interaction Hub”. Click on the “Interaction Hub.”
3. Here you can type in the seller’s store name and begin a conversation with them.
4. Note: You can find the seller’s store name by going to My Account – My Orders and under the product name in small text you will be a phrase “by: (insert seller name).” Alternatively, if you have not purchased the product yet and would like to schedule a video call you can follow the steps in number 5.
5. Navigate to product you’d like to purchase. Under the product name you’ll see “By: (insert seller name)”. This is the name you need to enter on the Interaction Hub to find the vendor.
Do I have to have an account to buy a tool?
It is not required, but highly recommended. You can create an account during checkout if you’d like to browse our tool selection first.
How do I purchase tools on Tool Swap Shop?
- Browse listings by category or search by tool condition.
- Review the tool’s description, condition, and photos.
- You can reach out to the seller and schedule a video call to see the tool in action before purchasing.
- Add the item to your cart and proceed to checkout.
- Make payment securely using our platform.
Are the tools new or used?
Tool Swap Shop primarily features pre-owned tools, but some sellers may list new tools. Each listing includes a detailed condition report so you can make an informed purchase.
What if the tool I receive is not as described?
If the tool’s condition or features do not match the listing, you can request a refund or return within 7 days of delivery. Please refer to our Refund and Return Policy for details.
How is shipping handled?
Shipping costs are displayed at checkout and are based on the seller’s location, the shipping destination, and the tool’s size/weight. Sellers are responsible for securely packaging and shipping tools.
Can I track my order?
Yes, once the seller ships your tool, the tracking number will be added to your order. You can track your order through your Tool Swap Shop account.
Can I return a tool if I change my mind?
Returns for “buyer’s remorse” are not supported unless explicitly allowed by the seller. Tools must also meet the conditions outlined in the Refund and Return Policy.
How are payments processed?
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Accepted payment methods include major credit/debit cards.
Are transactions safe on Tool Swap Shop?
Yes, Tool Swap Shop uses secure payment processing and encrypted communications. We recommend communicating with sellers only through our platform for added security.

What happens if my tool is lost or damaged during shipping?
If an item is lost or damaged during shipping, contact the Tool Swap Shop Support team for further assistance.
Do I need to pay taxes on my purchase?
Taxes may apply depending on your location and the seller’s business status. Applicable taxes will be displayed at checkout.
